Summer in the South West

Summer in the South West

I probably shouldn’t tell you just how amazing the Great South West of Western Australia is, but I will – it’s awesome!

Greens Pool

Despite the busy pace of life many of us live in now, the South West has managed to retain its relaxed pace, allowing people the opportunity to slow down and unwind. Plus there’s the added bonus that some pockets of the region lack mobile connectivity – so you can truly switch off from the world and unwind.

Only situated a few hours south of Perth, you can explore the amazing diversity of the region. World class surf combined with first class wines and beautiful organic food produce – what’s not to love?!

Western Australia’s oldest settlement town (and my home town) of Albany is a mix of ancient mountain ranges, beautiful coastline, history and wildflowers. Albany has some of the most lovely beaches and nature, where you can
enjoy hiking tours such as on one of the world’s largest long distance walk trails, the Bibbulmun Track. And now on until ANZAC Day 2019 is the incredible Field of Lights – an immersive art installation of 16,000 lights paying homage to the Anzacs. A must see.

Further west, the picturesque town of Denmark is home to some of the tallest trees in the world and endless possibilities to explore rugged coastlines and National Parks. Make sure you visit Greens Pool and Peaceful Bay, as both are ideal for families with clear and calm ocean water.

Epic playgrounds and lawn games mixed with boutique breweries – tick!

And if you need even more opportunities to relax, there are also numerous wellness retreats and day spas dotted throughout the South West.

But shhhh, don’t tell anyone I told you!
